On January 23, Jay Tiftickjian participated in a panel discussion for the criminal defense bar. The topic for the roundtable was defending DUI cases, and it was attended by around a dozen attorneys looking for advice about their pending cases. Tiftickjian was one of two defense attorneys leading the question and answer session.
The cases discussed involved blood tests, breath tests, and refusals. Some cases were for clients with no prior drunk driving arrests and other cases involved multiple offenders.
Tiftickjian recently finished a round of presentations on the new Colorado DUI laws. Recent changes to the State’s statutes now require ignition interlock devices for persons revoked with a BAC of 0.15 or for those who refuse chemical testing. The presentations were held in some of the county courts in the metro area, such as Jefferson, Adams and Weld.
In addition to these recent events, Tiftickjian authored two books that were released in the last year. Colorado DUI Defense: The Law and Practice and Facing a DUI Charge in Colorado.
